Where to begin?
Wednesday night we tried to cram everything into Oksana's car. They arrived at about 10:30 and after the horrible detour in Stockton we finally were on a smooth course to San Diego at about 12 midnight. Oksana drove for about 2 hours and then asked me to take over...
I drove from 2:15ish until 8:30. Record time. Usually when someone else drives we end up in San Diego around 3 in the afternoon. I only stopped for gas and luckily no one's bladder exploded.
We came way too early to check in so I changed in the Inn's employee restroom and we headed for the trolley.
The line just to pick up a pass was extremely long. Since we usually get our pass right before registration closes this was new to me. But once you get in the line it actually starts to move. I just thought it was horrible at the time because our line was RIGHT beside the people waiting for the Twilight panel. We got our passes! Success!
We thought we'd be panel crazy since we were low on cash but of course the first thing we try to go to is rescheduled so we wandered around the exhibit hall...oh my god...it really does a number on your feet. I developed the worst blister just from walking around the exhibit hall.
But after like 5 years of looking I finally met Brom! And of course I forgot to bring my Plucker book. But I got him to sign my sketch book and an art book. He was super nice. He has a novel coming out and there were a bunch of cards with the cover art on it. I told him that I finally found him and he was like "Oh, cool, want some cards?" and he quickly signed like 4 of them in a row. So awesome.
We get a call from Mario and he's like "Tommy Wiseau is here! He's gonna do a signing!" so we got to meet him. He was hilarious. He was throwing shirts super hard at people who didn't even know who he was. He was taking pictures with people who didn't buy anything and he was like "i dunt even cuhr!" So that was exciting...
Friday I got Camilla d'Errico to sign my laptop but it already wiped off because the geleskin and the pen didn't like eachother.
We watched the FearNet panel with Robert Englund, Robert Hall, Kane Hodder...and the boyfriend from the Hannah Montana Movie. It was awesome, Spider [Rob Zombie's little bro] was talking the whole time because Clive Barker was stuck in traffic but Clive entered right in time to answer questions from the audience. Everyone bugged Englund about The Nightmare on Elm St. remake and he was being very humble about it while Hall kept making fun of horrible it's going to be since he grew up watching horror movies. The one panel I saw was awesome. The webisodes looked really great, too. Can't wait.
AWESOMECON. Was awesome. Of course. Eric was way more gigantic than I imagined.
Costume contest was great. I will let the video explain itself.
I got the absolute worst sunburn on my chest that day. Even someone who was sitting on a blanket in the park BEGGED me to put on sunblock because she could see my skin being multilated. I was like "SORRY I DON'T HAVE SUNBLOCK!!" haha, I was sorry for her to have to see my skin to that to itself.
David Liebe Hart was insane. He was sweet but he wrote all over my Season 1 DVD, haha. He was asking people to sign a petition for his church to let him return and speak the word of the Karinians.
Sire, who sings "Sexual Romance" was very sweet! It was his first Awesome-con and was totally diggin' taking pictures with everyone.
Palmer Scott and Michael Schmidt were very funny guys who enjoyed taking pictures with everyone, too. Russell said one of them smelled bad but I was having too much fun to notice.
Pierre was great. He was screaming "KEEP YOUR MEAT ICE COLD!" when he took pictures. With the occasional, "DOO DA DOO DA DOO!" The smile never left my face.
Of course meeting Tim and Eric, what do you say to those guys? They make me laugh everyday but I didn't want to be a babbling fan.
James Quall is definitely autistic or something. He was signing and posing for pictures but you couldn't really talk to the guy. He was very awesome as well, though.
Buuuh.. I had the absolute best clam chowder after that. Right on the marina it was awesome. I was trying to spot Tim and Eric on the jetskis.
Anyway, fun trip. Gonna try and go to L.A. this weekend for Jonas Brothers tickets. Stay with my pal Regina but I don't want to get into details about it already.
